New Sony Blu-Ray DVD Players Announced

A new range of Sony Blu-Ray DVD players have been announced by the company.

The new machines, the BDZ-A70 and BDZ-T90, both come after Sony announced last year that it would make Blu-Ray Disc standard on its digital video recorders.

A new feature on the Sony BDZ-A70 Blu-Ray DVD player is the one-touch video transfer capability, according to trustedreviews.com.

Such compatible devices, such as a Sony Walkman player, certain mobile phones or a PSP can be plugged into the player's USB port. A one-touch transfer option then ports stored content to the appropriate folder on the device.

A 60-minute program should be transferred in under five minutes in H264 at 320 x 240 resolutions, Sony claims.

The BDZ-A70 features a 320 GB built-in hard drive, for storing the content as well as the ability to record to Blu-Ray discs. PC World says that the Sony BDZ-T90 Blu-Ray DVD player has a 500 GB hard drive but comes without the transfer capability.

Paramount pictures has announced plans to release its film titles in Blu-Ray DVD after scrapping plans to support a rival high-definition format, reports Bloomberg.
