Dell has revealed its new range of desktop PC's which it claims is one of the most advanced gaming platforms on the planet.

The Dell XPS 730 H2C has support for optional quad-core processors, quad GPU graphics solutions and up to four hard drives, which is ready to offer an immersive experience for the most demanding PC games available, according to the company.

Arthur Lewis, head of Dell's gaming group, said the computers meet the expectations of a unique set of customers who are "incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, intense and competitive".

"With XPS and Alienware gaming systems we've been progressively delivering an awe-inspiring experience to gamers and now, with the XPS 730, we've set the bar for a truly kick-ass gaming experience," added Mr Lewis.

The XPS 730 H2C, with prices starting at $5,499, has a NVIDIA nforce 790i Ultra SLI chipset and support for a variety of high performance graphics solutions.

During March, Dell agreed a deal to purchase gaming PC maker Alienware, increasing Dell's position in the computer gaming market.

Alienware, whose PC's are famous for the UFO-style look, will continue to operate as a subsidiary company using its own name.
