AMD Launch Initiative for Gamers
Advanced Micro Designs (AMD) has launched a new initiative to help consumers select the perfect PCs for high-definition gaming.
The AMD Game! Platform is supported by companies such as Acer, Alienware, Logitech and Microsoft.
AMD claims that its gaming platforms combine the power of multi-core processors, HD digital media technology and next-generation graphics power. The company says that the Game! initiative ensures that computer systems are optimized with the right graphics and processor components for superior gaming.
Nigel Dessau, vice president of AMD, said that the new initiative ensures that consumers do not need "enthusiast-level knowledge" of PC hardware to find an optimal gaming system.
"We in the PC industry owe consumers the same predictability, simplicity and affordability in finding a PC for gaming that the console industry currently provides," he added.
AMD recently introduced new lower quad-power options for its Opteron processors and the first energy-efficient x86 server processor in the industry.
