Apple Announces Conference Sell-Out

The company has announced that chief executive of Apple, Steve Jobs, will open the conference with a keynote address.
An Apple spokesman told Macworld that for those people unable to attend the WWDC, videos of the sessions will be available on iTunes to purchase after the close of the conference.
"Response to this year's WWDC has been off the charts and we are delighted with the show of enthusiasm and support from the developer community for the new iPhone SDK," he added.
Xbox 360 Surpasses the Wii & PS3

The company figures reveal that the machine beat Nintendo's Wii and the Sony Playstation 3 in reaching the landmark sales figure.
When released in November 2005, the Xbox 360 was the first of the latest generation games consoles to be released in the US. The Wii and PS3 were launched a year later.
Don Mattrick, senior vice president of the entertainment and devices division at Microsoft, said that this year will be the largest in the history of the video game industry.
Kaspersky to Participate in IMPACT

The summit will be held by the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber-Terrorism (IMPACT) in Kuala Lumpur at the end of May.
It will be the largest ever conference on cyber terrorism and security and will be a forum for ministers, industry leaders and cyber security experts from more than 40 countries.
The company claims its founder Eugene Kaspersky has been calling for a global initiative on cyber crime for years.
He said that IMPACT was a unique initiative aimed at consolidating the efforts of government and the IT community in combating cyber terrorism.
"Like all forms of terrorism, cyber terrorism does not recognize borders or laws, even though the global economy's dependence on electronic communication means that the threat of cyber-terrorism is real," explained Mr Kaspersky.
He added that his company will use its 19 years of experience in combating malicious programs to make a meaningful contribution to protecting the world community against this new global threat.

Dell to Phase Out Select XPS Gaming Systems

The Wall Street Journal reported that Dell plans to phase out four of its XPS models and combine the XPS gaming team with the Alienware staff. It had previously said that the two company lines would not overlap.

Microsoft Launched Video Service in Messenger

The new service called Messenger TV will show content including programs from MTV, Sony BMG, Channel 4 and EMI.
Messenger TV will be launched in 20 countries around the world, including many in Europe, but the service is not available in the US to date.
Apple to Sell HBO shows on iTunes

It will be the first time that HBO has made its successful portfolio of shows, such as The Sopranos and Sex and the City, available in electronic form and episodes are likely to be sold at a higher standard price than regular TV shows.
Apple's iTunes store currently charges $1.99 for television episodes available; however the HBO shows may be put on at a higher price which may lead to other media companies pushing to change their digital download prices.
Microsoft Offering Windows for Low-Cost PC's

The computing giant plans to offer PC makers significant price cuts on Windows XP licenses but will only be available for computers with low hardware specifications limited to 10.2 inches for screen sizes and hard drives no bigger than 80 GB.
Low-cost PC's have grown in popularity, with the Asus Eee PC equipped with a modified version of the Xandros Linux system.
Apple iPhone Out of Stock

Computerworld claims that neither US nor UK online stores currently have iPhones available for sale and the shortages have fueled the rumors that a next-generation 3G model will be released shortly.
According to the publication, four retail stores it contacted said that the device is unavailable. One salesman said that "the iPhone is sold out company-wide". Devices on the on-line stores carry the message "currently unavailable".
